Goodbye...
My heart breaks today...

My 13 yr old boxer had to be put to sleep. Both my husband & I are very sad & miss him dearly. It will feel so weird moving into our new place without him.

I will think of him as my husband's best friend, always following him around our home, sitting between his legs when he worked at his desk, sticking his head out of the car window to catch the breeze. He loved car rides & looking out the window for hours. What a blessing it was to have such a good dog.

His name was Danny & I hope we'll see him again one day....

A friend of mine emailed this poem she found online today:

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand. The Doctors said he was in pain,And it was hard for him to stand. The thoughts that scurried through my head,As I cradled him in my arms. Were of his younger, puppy years,And OH...his many charms.Today, there was no gentle nudgeWith an intense "I love you gaze",Only a heart thats filled with tearsRemembering our joy filled days. But an Angel just appeared to me,And he said, "You should cry no more,God also loves our canine friends,He's installed a 'doggy-door

Dog's and Itchy Skin

We have all seen our pet's scratch, but when is it too much? I wanted to focus on ears, due to the high volume of dogs who suffer from ear issues. The itching may be caused by a variety of problems, including parasites or allergies. Yeast infections are best noticed, when dogs scratch ears and lick their toes. At times the dog will scratch so much that the  ear will bleed. In most cases a visit to the vet could alleviate the issue. If caught early a topical cream is usually prescribed. In extreme cases the dog may need oral medication. If your dog appears to have any symptoms, to properly diagnose visit your veterinarian.

Feeling The Holiday Spirit !!

If your dog was hurting could he/she tell you?
If your dog was hungry, could he /she tell you?

This cause brings a voice to your pet, of both joy and sadness. When someone looses their job the entire family is affected. If you can't provide food or health care for your family, remember that includes your pet! This nonprofit organization helps prevent dogs from being surrendered to shelters. Fairy Dog Parents  provide food medical care and overall wellness for animals in need. These kind of services are needed all over the United States. To know that one woman's dream is coming true in Massachusetts is quite remarkable.
